Georgia Recording Fees
In the State of Georgia, there are two types of charges associated with the recordation of an instrument in the public records.  In addition to any applicable transactional tax, there is a nominal documentary fee. Although once based on the number of pages contained in the instrument, most documentary fees are now flat fee regardless of the number of pages. Recording fees are standardized throughout the State of Georgia. However, fees may slightly vary Court to Court based on each Clerk’s interpretation of the fee rules.


PT-61 Filing
The Georgia Department of Revenue requires filing of the PT-61 Form at the time a conveyance is presented for recording. More information on the form can be found at the following link (link opens in separate window)—
